How it started

Hartmann Motors’ story began in 1998 in a cozy Lair Hill location. Finding the shop was part of the experience, relying on recommendations and a bit of detective work. This reflected the personalized service Pat and Mike Hartmann offered from day one. In 2007, they expanded their vision, creating a welcoming and efficient space in SW Portland where customers continue to receive exceptional care.

We believe in transparency and quality. At Hartmann Motors, we utilize OEM diagnostic and repair software and tooling to accurately diagnose and repair your vehicle. Our expert technicians and specialists provide honest recommendations and strive for excellence in every service, offering a fair price for exceptional workmanship.

Pat Hartmann is diligently applying his expertise on classic vehicles and supporting the team as an Electrical and Diagnostic Specialist.

Mike Hartmann has embraced retirement, yet he graciously returns to the shop when needed for complex gearing and transmission diagnostics.

Craig Hartmann manages the business operations, advising customers on repairs and services, and overseeing strategic planning. Craig’s ability to see the “big picture” is invaluable to Hartmann Motors. He’s not just focused on day-to-day operations; he’s constantly thinking about how to improve the overall customer experience and ensure the long-term success of the business. His work allows the team to focus on their specialized jobs, while he makes sure that the company as a whole is moving in a positive direction.

Cory Hartmann is a skilled automotive technician and Mechanical Specialist. He excels in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicles, including complex engine and transmission work. Cory is also committed to professional development, currently expanding his expertise in electrical diagnostics for Audi and Volkswagen vehicles.

Brittnay Hartmann is a true team player at Hartmann Motors, stepping in wherever needed—from automotive technician work to service advising. When she’s not at the shop, you’ll find her on the field, coaching college athletes in lacrosse and soccer.

Lauren Hartmann provides invaluable support to the office, specializing in human resources and bookkeeping.

Full Service Shop

We complete most repairs and diagnostics, including maintenance, check engine lights, brakes, suspension, alignments, leaks, electrical repairs, control units, programming, and more. We pretty much do everything, aside from tires, body work, and upholstery repair.
